It may seem like an odd question to ask, in fact, some of us are probably quick to say no having plastic surgery doesn’t make you look older just the opposite. Well, it may come as a surprise to learn that there are situations where a person who has plastic surgery done will actually look older or far less natural. Which sort of defeats the whole purpose of having work done, the objective was to take years off not add them. So, in order to avoid making the mistakes that could lead to plastic surgery backfiring let’s take a closer look at some of the mistakes that are made.
Too Much Botox
Using too much Botox or other filler injections is perhaps one of the most common mistakes a woman can make. This can lead to what is called a surprised look, a frozen look or a plastic look. Some areas where these mistakes are made are the eye area such as the eyebrows and under eye wrinkles. Another common mistake is plumping the cheeks and the lips. One of the best things to remember when using filler injections is: less is best, especially at first. These results from these injections usually don’t last although some have reported some permanent damage to the face usually when the Botox is injected the wrong way. So, with that in mind, it’s always best to do research on the cosmetic surgeon administering the procedure to ensure they have a good track record by finding out what other patients have said about them. Filler injections have their place as a cosmetic procedure but it’s important to use them the right way.
Too Large an Implant
Some individuals especially women want to enhance a certain area of their body. Some want a larger chin or of course a larger bust area. That is fine especially if they aren’t shall we say properly endowed in these areas, but when stepping up to the plate to have such a procedure done it is important not to overdo it. A woman needs to be careful when it comes to such implants going too large, could be jarring to their overall appearance and mind not be the easiest thing to contend with. When it comes to a chin implant going too large could throw off the overall appearance of the rest of their face. As for breast implants, this one is tempting for most women, even the ones who don’t really need them because they want even larger breast, but the problem is not only throwing off their appearance but going too large with implants could be detrimental to their back and spine. Taking either of these implant procedures to an extreme will look anything but natural and unfortunately could make a woman look older along with causing other problems.
Think about the Hands and Arms
This is another common mistake that those having plastic surgery could make. They don’t stop to think as they are having work done on their neck and faces they don’t stop to think about how their hands or arms could be saying how old they are. After all, wrinkles appear on our hands as well along with age spots for some of us this may not matter too much, we aren’t using plastic surgery to cover how old we are just to try to give our overall facial appearance look better.
Some Closing Advice
Now that we have gone through some of the issues that occur that can make a person appear older after plastic surgery how do we avoid them? Well, as stated above always make sure to use a reputable plastic surgeon that is always key. Second, show them a picture of yourself at a younger age so they have some idea what you are aiming for. Third, don’t jump into plastic surgery too soon. Some women tend to have such work done to diminish just the slightest signs of ageing which isn’t an advisable thing to do. These procedures aren’t always necessary especially by individuals at a younger age, so wait till the time is right.
